Advertising Design Intern

SWBR is looking for a creative intern who is a detail-oriented, problem-solver with a positive attitude. Join our team to work on a wide range of projects, do research and participate in brainstorms and ideations. You will assist our team to gain valuable, real-world experience. We need someone who can jump right in and help out wherever needed.

The requirements
- Please upload your resume
- Reference link to your online portfolio in resume or cover letter
- Innovative ideas, sharp eye for layout and awareness of design trends
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Eagerness to learn and help where needed
- Solid knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Adobe After Effects and video editing experience is a plus
- Currently enrolled as a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree related to advertising, marketing or design

The Challenge

As a premiere manufacturer of stone-coated steel roof panels within a competitive industry, DECRA Metal Roofing sought a fresh viewpoint in communicating its brand to a bigger, newer audience that included both homeowners and roofing contractors.

The Solution

DECRA wanted a way to be at the forefront of homeowners and contractors’ minds when it came time to replace a roof. We tailored strategies for these two distinctly different audiences, developing new branding, landing pages and a digital campaign that targeted audiences in storm-prone locations throughout the U.S.

The Approach

Our Three Process Principle



  • Campaign | Messaging | Design

We developed messaging that zeroed in on weather-impacted homeowners as well as effectively pitched roofing contractors on why DECRA products are the best. We also delivered collateral, digital ads and landing pages that elevated the brand’s strong, stylish product.



  • Geo-Targeting | Social | Digital | Collateral

Our two-pronged campaign strategy paid off. First, we built brand awareness for DECRA among homeowners in the market for a new roof. Secondly, we educated contractors and grew the install base within these targeted communities. Tackling brand awareness on two fronts was critical because if contractors don’t carry a particular product, it won’t get installed.



  • Lead Generation

The two-year campaign generated millions of impressions, surged website traffic and increased homeowner sales leads that turned into installed roofs. Our geo-targeted campaign tactically followed storm events, where these regions produced our best conversions.

Alongside fresh collateral that delivered the DECRA story in a succinct, attractive way, we served up millions of impressions across social media and the web in key geographic locations, driving tens of thousands of clicks to specifically targeted landing pages. Homeowners were engaged on-site and frequently entered DECRA’s lead pipeline. Meanwhile, roofing contractors continued entering an incentive program that gave them access to high-end products that their customers love.
